A nucleus is 5 drawn-out comb frames in a temporary box with resources (pollen/nectar, honey), capped and uncapped brood, a laying accepted queen, and approximately 15,000 + worker bees. We start taking in orders in December and typically expect them to come in throughout April, but this depends on the course of the unpredictable Appalachian spring.
