We typically offer Carniolan and VSH Italian queens from a Northern California breeder with which we have had consistently good results and high rates of acceptance. We may also offer locally raised queens when available. Queens are for LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. We do not ship. Call or email to be added to our interest list for queens, and we will notify you when our next shipment arrives. Please note that due to high demand we cannot hold queens without payment.
Mated honeybee queen in a wooden cage with attendant bees and a candy cork. Used for re-queening hives or making splits. Queen marking occasionally available for a fee.
* All Sales Final* Purchase of queen bees are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
We cannot guarantee that the queen will be accepted by your hive. To increase the chances of acceptance, kill the old queen at least 24 hours before introducing the new queen. Remove plastic cap (if applicable) from the candy cork, leaving the candy intact. The time delay from the bees eating through the candy cork gives the workers time to acclimate to the queen's pheromones, increasing likelihood of acceptance. Inspect hive after 3-5 days to make sure she has been released.
